Nirbhaya gang rape and murder convict Akshay Kumar has once again approached President Ram Nath Kovind just three days before the hanging.

The guilty Akshay has again filed a mercy petition with the President.

Earlier, President Ramnath Kovind had rejected the mercy petition of Akshay.

According to news agency ANI, now the guilty Akshay has filed a new mercy petition, in which he claimed that the mercy petition filed earlier did not contain all the facts.

A death warrant has been issued to hang Nirbhaya’s culprits at 3 am on March 3.

This order was given by the Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana of the Patiala House Court on a petition demanding the issuance of a new death warrant.

The trial court on February 17 issued fresh date for execution of death warrants for March 3 for the four convicts — Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Kumar Sharma (26) and Akshay Kumar (31) — in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case.

The mercy petitions of three convicts — Mukesh, Vinay and Akshay — have already been dismissed by the President.

The apex court had earlier dismissed separate pleas filed by Mukesh and Vinay challenging the rejection of their mercy petitions by the President.
